By Khristine Holterman,

As promised, I am back with part two of my favorites for summer entertaining. Living in California we have so many reasons to entertain: great weather, a vacation destination (nonstop houseguests!), family reunions and just gathering with local friends.  Here are a few more of my favorite sites and stores for making these guests feel welcome.

Tucker Nuck

This relatively new site has their flagship store located in Washington DC. Their site offers clothing and home goods. Although pricey, their quality is top notch. I just love their napkins; they are made out of a fun beachy seersucker fabric. I personally love the way they go perfectly with the wicker fish placemats.

If the theme of your next summer entertainment event is a garden party, why not be unique? Instead of using plastic or melamine, why not give these tin plates a try? You will love them as much as I do.

I do need to do a quick mention, since I did say they sold clothes. If you’re in a pinch about what to wear as the hostess, Tucker Nuck does have a nice array of casuals.

Elsie Green

If you are a romantic, international type of soul, Elsie Green has you covered. They carry a vast array of French vintage items for the home, patio and garden. Many vintage treasures are shipped from overseas and when unloaded, so is your romantic sense of adventure. For example, take these oyster plates: each are unique, as each one was acquired one by one from flea markets across the French countryside. Oh, if these plates could only talk, what stories they would tell!

These are only to be rivaled by this beautiful vintage ramekin set. These little ramekins are perfect for those little afterthoughts or condiments your summer entertainment might need.

Finally, check out this vintage grille flatware . This style was created in the 1930’s as a chic way to have a meal. The fork has an extended handle to make it more comfortable. Each set of eight is an eclectic mix of various pieces collected from various flea markets.

For those of you who would rather visit a physical store in person, and you live in Northern California or don’t mind the drive, here are my two favorites. They are across the street from each other: West Main and Abode.

Happy summer entertaining…till next time!
