Always wanted a La Cornue range, but it never really fit with the contemporary style of my kitchens. And I couldn’t justify a $100,000 kitchen remodel just to satisfy my yen for this classic stove. But, when we bought a country house that already had the shabby chic thing going for it, nothing but a La Cornue would do. It was a disaster at first — I felt like I was cooking for the very first time. But, after a few burnt meals…it was heaven. It is really worth the price and I can’t wait to return to the country house to cook on the La Cornue again
