These are solid windows. They provide excellent insulation and sound proofing. The hardware, standard with Loewen and supposedly of high quality, is less than I expected. Several sashes locks broke within two years of use. In addition, the weather sealant strips started to come off within a year of installation. I was not expecting any problems given the price point and the quality of the actual window, but instead I’ve had to have them serviced multiple times over the short time I’ve owned my home.
